My favorite photo from the many that I shot during 50 Feasts’ Basic Food Photography class c/o Mylene Chung. The lovely props and food were all hers! :)
Learned a lot about how to take sharp photos there, and most especially, how to edit in RAW.
Btw, the concept I imagined for this particular shot was “rich person having breakfast at her vacation home in New England, during a warm winter/cold spring day.” Or, in short, “Martha Stewart instagramming her bagel”.

Blue Paradise - a series of photos taken in Santorini, Greece and Lucern, Switzerland. Two completely opposite views (the seas vs. the snowy alps), one awesome color!

Wish You Were Here Part 3.2: Lights Out Strasbourg

Got the opportunity to take some shots of Strasbourg at around 8 to 10pm (aka sunset). As usual, the city, with its old world street lamps, The Strasbourg Chapel, scattering of precious little bistros and shops, cobblestone streets, and various canals make for a wonderful picturesque setting.

Part 3 of my Wish You Were Here travel photo series is in Northern France! We went all the way up to Chateau de Pierrefonds in Picardy (not a very popular place for tourists) just to see the shooting location of my favorite BBC series, Merlin! We missed seeing the cast by a day and I ran out of Merlin and Arthur action figures (bummer!), but at least I got to trace the steps of the cast and crew as I walked around the beautiful castle grounds.

Strasbourg, Compiegne, and Rue are very nice places as well, quaint and charming with the usual elegant European architecture.

I’ll post some night shots of the lovely Strasbourg streets in a few minutes!

Part 2 of my Wish You Were Here travel photo series takes place in the beautiful Brussels, Belgium, home of the famous Belgian chocolates, waffles, fries (they’re not French!), and landmarks such as the Atomium and the Royal Greenhouse. Perfect place to go if you like walking around city streets safely until nighttime (the sun sets at 9 in this craycray part of the world) and browsing through shops and restaurants in the midst of great architecture. Will definitely come back if I get the chance!

I’ve taken so many (peopleless) pictures during our family trip that it would be a shame not to try and do something productive with them! Hence, the start of Wish You Were Here, a travel photography series featuring the cities I’ve been this 2012. I’ve chosen my usual scrapbook-style design, this time with more textures that peep through the pictures to give the photos more character.

Part 1 of WYWH is our first stop, the wonderful Bruges, Belgium, characterized by its quaint brick houses with steeped rooftops, the Bruges Canal, and beautiful architecture in general.

Enjoy, and looking forward to posting Part 2!

During our second semester’s Illustration class under AJ Omandac, we were tasked to interpret a nursery rhyme of our choice through a style of illustration. I decided to do a Victorian fashion piece interpreting the rhyme “Baa Baa Black Sheep”, particularly the line, one for my dame.

Baa Baa Black Sheep - Dame

To create the illustration, I first drew a sketch on a piece of paper, scanned it, and then traced the drawing on Illustrator. I then put the gradient background and the damask patterns using Photoshop.

I learned the squiggly line technique from Sir AJ, which I used to create the wool texture.

I had so much fun creating this project because I love “designing” dramatic period costumes. Maybe next time I’ll do Humpty Dumpty or Jack and Jill!
